Jennifer Plourde (RMT) provides MLD treatment.<br><br><strong>What to expect during a Manual Lymphatic Drainage treatment<\/strong>?<br><br>Jennifer will meet with you and assess your needs for massage therapy and\/or MLD treatment. \u00a0If MLD is indicated then you can expect a long, gentle treatment &#8211; for at least 30 minutes.\u00a0Afterwards, Jennifer will recommend homecare and assess if bandaging is necessary in cases of lymphedema.\u00a0For clients seeking MLD who do not have lymphedema you may be able to have MLD within a larger massage therapy treatment.<br><br>Other conditions where MLD may be helpful:<br> ~ Migraine headaches;<br> ~ Chronic sinusitis;<br> ~ Sprains (i.e. ankle, wrist);<br> ~ Swelling related to venous insufficiency;<br> ~ Pre and post surgery to aid in healing;<br> ~ General tissue health and relaxation; and<br> ~ Aid in healing of scar tissue.<br><br>There are several conditions that involve swelling that <strong>cannot <\/strong>be treated with MLD:<br> ~ Liver disease;<br> ~ Congestive Heart Failure;<br> ~ Kidney disease; and <br> ~ Malnutrition.<br><br>Additionally, MLD will not help with weight loss or to reduce cellulite.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"grid-md-6\"><div class=\"gutentor-single-item-image-box\"><div class=\"gutentor-image-thumb\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optimalphysio.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/toa-heftiba-a9pFSC8dTlo-unsplash-e1580957400118.jpg\" alt=\"\" height=\"1395\" width=\"1201\"\/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_uag_custom_page_level_css":"","_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-318","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.13 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Manual Lymphatic Drainage<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Optimal Physiotherapy and Health Services provides physiotherapy rehabilitation in North London, Ontario.
